Job Summary
This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently correcting minor machine malfunctions, process fills and jackpots and enhance the guests’ gaming experience to maximize slot handle. Promotes a work environment that is pleasant and desirable. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, the mission and objectives of the Sugar Creek Casino and the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

The following is a list of duties/responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the Slot Manager and/or Shift Manager.

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of casino equipment including; Two-way radio with earpiece and microphone, 10 key adding machine, and jackpot/fill ticket printer.
  3. Maintain compliance of all aspects of the Sugar Creek Casino internal controls.
  4. Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the Sugar Creek Casino Gaming Commission.
  5. Maintain clear an open communications with guests and manager/supervisors.
  6. Evaluate operating procedures; recommend changes and implement- approved changes.
  7. Be knowledgeable with all aspects of the Sugar Creek Casino Players’ Club Card and encourage guest participation.
  8. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
  9. Perform job functions of additional positions as necessary.
  10. Report to work as scheduled and follow the break schedule as posted/notified.
  11. Respond to and open tilted slot machines to determine of maintenance or a fill is required.
  12. Complete minor maintenance on slot machines.
  13. Complete maintenance write-up for slot machines that require a slot technician.
  14. Complete the Attendant Card every time a slot machine is opened.
  15. Print fill tickets and process with appropriate signatures.
  16. Fill machines as required.
  17. Respond to slot machines with jackpots and determine if the jackpot is valid.
  18. Calculate jackpots amounts for jackpots not registering on the NexGen system.
  19. Process jackpot and fill tickets manually when the NexGen system is not functioning.
  20. Print jackpot tickets and process with appropriate signatures.
  21. Obtain customer identification and complete appropriate and relevant tax forms to include: W1G, 1042, 1001, and W9.
  22. Perform all other duties to be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have thorough understanding of the Sugar Creek Gaming Commission pertaining to slot operation.
  2. The ability to understand and comply with all departmental and company rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  3. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  4. Ability to perform basic math
  5. Excellent cash handling skills.
  6. Carry pouch with cash for quick and easy payment of jackpot winners as necessary.
  7. Ability to handle a significant number of guests with outstanding customer service.
  8. Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  9. Prioritize and organize tasks.
  10. Follow directions thoroughly.
  11. Work cohesively with managers, supervisors and co-workers as part of a team.
  12. Work independently with little to no supervision.
  13. Ability to operate a two-way radio.
  14. Computer experience in Windows XP. Vista 7.0, Office 2000, 2003, 2007.
  15. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Sugar Creek Casino Gaming License.
  16. Ability to perform assigned duties while still being able to listen and respond to radio communications.

 EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  2. Previous Casino slot department experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret technical documents and technical instruction manuals. Ability to write simple reports.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, and the general public.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays and unexpected events.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Basic analytical and deductive reasoning ability. Must have superior interpersonal relations skills.  Must have superior planning and organizational skills, ability to manage and oversee projects.

Must possess the ability to access all areas of the property with some instances in a rapid manner. Will be required to speak and write fluently in the English language. Must be able to maintain physical stamina, a proper mental attitude, work under pressure, meet deadlines. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, frequent bending, reaching, and kneeling. Requires normal vision and hearing range. Ability to lift multiple fills, coin bags, cans of coins up to 25 to 30 pounds and carry them to various locations throughout the Casino. Frequent pushing, pulling, feeling, touching.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cigarette fumes. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
