Part Time Waitstaff / Bartender

Job Summary
The Waitstaff/Bartender will provide friendly, excellent service to every customer who approaches the Canyons, Red Rock, Winning Times and Event Bar area while preparing drinks for patrons. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, mission and objectives of Sugar Creek Casino, and the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, as well as established policies, procedures, and controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Making drinks according to the recipe.
  • Demonstrating responsible alcohol service.
  • Serving food to bar customers.
  • Operates a cash drawer, handling beverage sale transactions, handling cash, proper cash drawer balance and other forms of payment.
  • Entertaining guests to create “Raving fans” while still maintaining crowd control.
  • Making proficient sales transactions-using a point-of-sale system.
  • Properly checking I. D’s-for guests who appear to be under 30 years old.
  • Physically arm bands every patron who is requesting to consume alcoholic beverages and has been determined to be of legal age.
  • Directing guests to areas/restrooms.
  • Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge.
  • Clean and refill drink stations, use cutting boards, when needed.
  • Properly labeling, dating, covering, and refrigerating prepped items for the bar.
  • Suggestive selling – using proven techniques.
  • Maintaining proper product pars-through bar pulls and inventories.
  • Transports kegs and changes out the kegs as necessary
  • Stocking liquor, beer, wine throughout the shift.
  • Properly sanitizing equipment, utensils, and glassware.
  • Walks the Casino floor to check on patron’s beverage needs; prepares, delivers drinks, and completed food orders for them. (Water, beer, soda, tea, coffee, wine, mixed drinks)
  • Answering questions-accurately and politely.
  • Creating memorable experiences.
  • Be knowledgeable of promotions and upcoming events.
  • Assist in changing channels on TVs to keep them active with current sporting events.
  • Performing opening, closing and side duties-setting up/braking down the bar, cleaning glass/countertops, sweeping the floor
  • Come from behind the bar when needed to assist the customers with drink orders or food on the floor as necessary.
  • Will help in the restaurant or concessions when needed.
  • Measure every drink when it is poured.Additional Duties assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  1. Must be 21 years of age.
  2. Professional appearance.
  3. Knowledge of operating a cash register/POS required.
  4. Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
  5. Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
  6. Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.
  7. Good interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  8. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  9. Must be able to obtain an ABLE License.
  10. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit.
  11. Casino food and beverage experience is helpful.
  12. Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  13. Must be able to work a varied work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  14. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Education and/or Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  2. Previous Beverage Alcohol Sale experience is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Language Skills:

  1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  3. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, employees, and customers.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  1. Must be able to obtain an ABLE License
  2. Food Handler’s License
  3. Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming license.


Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to move throughout the office, casino floor and cafes during visits (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  2. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  4. Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  5. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  6. Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry beer kegs) up to 70 pounds.
  7. Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  8. Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
